Westchester teen wins first WCIC Community Pride Award
January 5, 2008: Adam Isherwood, a Westchester resident and Montini High
School sophomore, is the recipient of the WCIC's first Community Pride Award.
Mr. Isherwood spent many hours in 2007 volunteering with the WCIC. He worked particularly hard maintaining the Post Office landscaping, which was planted earlier by the WCIC. He also helped clear buckthorn and rebuild the fence at 31st Street off Sunnyside and took part in other weekend work dates.
Mr. Isherwood is a very hard worker and his efforts are greatly appreciated.
In a letter informing him of the award, the WCIC noted that "efforts by young men and women like (him) point to a bright future for our community."
The Community Pride Award recognizes an individual or group that stands out among those who support our mission.
