August 19, 2007, declared WCIC Day
The Village Board recognized our efforts with a WCIC Day resolution. We celebrated by planting trees. Read More
On July 18 2007, Bill Koenig of the Forest Preserve District presented a sign recognizing the work WCIC and the Lions Club have done at the trailheads at Mannheim and Cermak and at 31st near Sunnyside. Two signs are to be installed soon. Full Story

The Forest Preserve District of Cook County is reviewing the WCIC request for a dog park at Westchester Woods, but the district has not settled on that location. Full Story
The Westchester Community Image Council is working with the Forest Preserve District of Cook County to create a canoe launch on the Salt Creek as well as a dog park. Full Story
