Welcome
Dear Neighbor,
We believe our supporters take pride in their homes and businesses and want the public spaces in Westchester to reflect that pride. When it comes to economic redevelopment, we believe that stores, restaurants and other businesses would like to locate in a community that has already shown it has a lot to offer.
If you support our efforts to clean up and beautify Westchester, join us!
Since the WCIC's creation in spring 2006, members and volunteers have created public gardens and led clean-up events. We began by transforming the median at Mannheim and Cermak from grass and weeds to a colorful flower bed. This past summer, we added 75 perennial gardens to the medians in Westchester Boulevard. We have worked to enhance the forest preserve trailheads that bring hikers and cyclists directly into our business districts.
We're proud to have received recognition from the state through a Governor's Home Town Award, as well as the Westchester Chamber of Commerce's 2007 Image Award.
To continue our work, we need your support. Now is a great time to join the Westchester Community Image Council or renew your membership.
Consider supporting us with a $25 membership donation, and as a thank you we'll send you a sturdy, reusable cloth tote ideal for groceries or other errands. As always, we welcome your ideas. You may also note on this form if you'd like to be contacted for volunteer work, such as clean-up events, planting, or help with mailings.
Sincerely,
The Westchester Community Image Council Board of Directors
